CASE STUDY
Client: Tate, National Museums Liverpool
Tate & National Museums Business Case Support

Our team were commissioned to develop business cases for a series of nationally significant cultural investments at Liverpool Waterfront, including the refurbishment of Tate Liverpool, Canning Dock public realm and accessibility improvements, and the transformation of the Maritime Museum and International Slavery Museum.

Our Role:

Through the project, we:

  • Worked with relevant project teams to identify the outputs and economic benefits associated with each investment.
  • Carried out an economic appraisal of each scheme, considering the alternative options for investment and their potential value for money.
  • Set out the funding and delivery arrangements to provide confidence to government that the proposals were affordable and achievable.
  • Developed a Business Case for each investment which was submitted and presented to DCMS.
  • Supported the client team through the DCMS approval process, responding to clarifications and attending relevant DCMS Committees.

Outcome:

Following submission and approval of a series of Business Cases, the works at Tate Liverpool, Canning Docks and ISM/MM are underway.
