Mountpark plan to submit a planning application for the development of a Nationally Significant Strategic Rail Freight Interchange (SRFI) at land east of the former Upper Heyford Air Base (Cherwell DC). As well as an SRFI served by new connections to the Chiltern Main Line, substantial warehousing space is proposed.

Our Role:

Through this project, we prepared the following documents:

  • A socio-economic ES Chapter to set out the socio-economic benefits of the proposals.
  • A Health Impact Assessment to consider the proposed developments impact on local health.
  • An Equalities Impact Assessment to consider the proposed developments impact on protected characteristics.

Outcome:

We have prepared draft documents for consultation stage 1 and 2 and are working towards finalising these ready for submission in 2026.
