123 Judd Street Social Value and Economic Statement

GC Insight was commissioned to prepare a report to make the economic and social case for the 123 Judd Street development. Dominus sought planning permission for a 240 upper-scale hotel including a training academy and ground floor public uses. The site is a former BT exchange in LB Camden and a case needed to be made supporting a change of use. 

Our Role:​

  • We identified the local regeneration priorities and socio-economic context to understand the key issues and opportunities which the site could address.
  • Our team undertook an impact assessment to quantify the economic benefits of the scheme including direct and indirect employment, GVA, visitor spending and fiscal impacts.
  • We summarised the social value impacts of the proposals, articulating how it would support wider social value and local community benefits including providing training and apprenticeship opportunities for the hospitality industry.

Outcome:

The scheme has now been approved.
