GC Insight supported Walsall Council with a range of strategies including an overarching Economic Framework, the Business Growth Strategy, and the Learning, Skills & Employment Strategy. 

Our Role:

Through the projects, we:

• Worked collaboratively with Council to develop a structure through the Economic Framework to organise socio-economic actions in Walsall’s other strategies sitting under the Walsall 2040 umbrella
• Developed comprehensive evidence bases and engaged extensively through a range of consultation means with a wide range of stakeholders
• Established pillars of activity spanning Business and Infrastructure, Work and Wellbeing, and Place and Infrastructure to collectively address identified challenges and realise opportunities in the borough
• Targeted activity in priority places, and engaged with businesses and local people 
  

Outcome:

Walsall Council has now launched the new Economic Framework, setting out a clear and ambitious plan to grow a more productive, resilient and inclusive economy by 2040. A structured approach for delivering growth in partnership with communities, businesses and regional stakeholders has been established.  The Business Growth Strategy and Learning, Skills & Employment Strategy have also successfully launched and been approved by Cabinet.
