Fair Work Research

As ekosgen, GC Insight was commissioned by SDS conduct research into the Fair Work Framework established in 2016 and developed over the following years.

Our Role:

After the inception meeting, the team conducted comprehensive desk research on the Fair Work policy landscape. The objective of the stage was to develop a deep understanding of the policy landscape and the current practices in relation to Fair Work, which helped direct the focus of the primary research and the report’s recommendations. It covered the policy landscape; fair work in enabling sectors; and information and support available to employers. It also reviewed previous research and literature on fair work, barriers, and relevant data.

The team then gathered meaningful and insightful intelligence from a wide range of stakeholders involved in the enabling sectors and in fair work policy and delivery, before conducting employer consultations. The objective of this stage was to gather views and feedback from a broad cross-section of employers that identified the challenges and benefits of adopting fair work practices. This helped inform the 6 typologies or profiles (personae) as well as the findings in the main report.

Outcome:

The reporting and presentation stage produced a report which met the full requirements of the brief, and which provided insightful recommendations on how barriers to implementing fair work can be overcome.
